Western Suburbs Orchid Society (WSOS) of Sydney meets from 7pm for an 7:45pm start on the third Monday of each month at the Uniting Church Hall, 11 Carrington Avenue, Strathfield, Sydney. Everyone is welcome whether you're a beginner or an expert.
We're a friendly crowd and discuss everything related to orchids, with different events each month. Members bring their flowering orchids and enter them in the monthly benching competition. See the Gallery page for the President's picks from last month's entries. Our larger gallery of all the photos we've ever taken is located at www.flickr.com/photos/wsos/ and is updated regularly.
We publish a monthly bulletin for members, and you can read last month's issue here.
We've been on hold since March 2020 due to the COVID issues, but we're now able to use our venue again. Therefore meetings will start again from October 2020 with all the necessary COVID safety precautions. Should you wish to attend a meeting you'll need to register first with the President as we have limited numbers due to social distancing. Wearing of masks is mandatory but gloves are optional.
Next Meeting: 21st December 2020
Highlight: Christmas Party (members only)
Plant of the Night (pictured left) for November was Cattleya Aussie Sunset exhibited by Wendy Choy.
Upcoming meetings:
